The light and shadows dance on this circa 1933 truck.
Ransom E Olds started the Olds Motor Vehicle Company in 1897.
When it became Oldsmobile and part of General Motors in 1905
he left to start
the REO (his initials as a single word) Motor Car Company
which produced cars and light trucks for seventy years. The REO Speed Wagon,
their most popular model and the precursor to the pickup, was introduced in 1915.
The band REO (as separate letters) Speedwagon started in 1967
and got its name from a founding member's truck.
They went on to sell almost 40 million records.
